This morning Jaclyn and Harrison went running at Le Parc Monceau, a nice, big park very close to our apartment. Katie was supposed to go too but she overslept a little…I tagged along to take picturees and I’m so glad I did!

So far, Parc Monceau is my favorite place in Paris! I have never felt so inspired by a place in my life! Everywhere I looked there were flowers and birds and people just enjoying life. I felt like I was in a Mary Cassatt painting!

"Picturesque" doesn't even begin to describe this place!

While Harrison and Jaclyn ran, I just wandered the paths. I took a ton of pictures of flowers (just like I always do) and absolutely loved how the light fell on them. The light in Paris just seems to make everything more beautiful!

The Parc isn’t very touristy so there were a lot of families just picnicing and enjoying the beautiful weather. I saw little girls playing badmitten, feeding pidgeons and just playing in the sandbox (more of a contained beach than a box). All of them were wearing pink it seemed, which was perfect for the quaint, serene atmosphere of the park.

This little girl was feeding the pidgeons with a whole baguette, she was very popular!

There are flower beds all along all the paths in the park. I got a few funny looks lying on the ground to take this one.

I really want to build a sand castle now.

The others plan to go running there often and I plan to return to take lots more pictures and maybe even take a sketch pad and some pastels if I can find some at a reasonable price. I hope I can somehow capture at least a little of the beauty and mood of the park.

For Mom, yellow roses were always her favorite. She would love the park.
